~ Chris ~

I was born in Auckland, New Zealand and moved to Wisconsin at the age of 5.  I have 1 older brother and 4 younger sisters.  I loved playing soccer and hanging out with friends growing up.  I grew up in church and went to Heritage Christian Schools from 3rd grade through graduation.  My junior year in high school saw my relationship with God take on real meaning.   My senior year I looked for a youth group to belong to and found my way to Brookfield A/G in Brookfield, WI.  This was my first step in discovering and walking down the path God had for me.  My senior year I went on a college days trip to North Central Bible College (NCU now).  God used this trip in the process of opening my mind and heart to His call into ministry for my life.  I went to NCBC from 1991 – 1995.  I graduated in '95 from NCBC with a degree in pastoral ministry.  While there, I met the love of my life, Amy, and we were married May 13, 1995.  We moved that same summer to the Cleveland, OH area.  While there, I accepted an invitation to go on staff at Christian Heritage A/G in Avon, OH.  I served there as youth pastor until August of 2000. While I served at Christian Heritage, God began to stir my heart towards missions.  In the summer of 2000 we moved to First A/G in Bedford, IN. My call to missions was developed as God told me I would be on the mission field one day in a mission's service one Sun. evening. I began pursuing this call by taking on the portfolio of Mission's pastor and organizing and attending several short term trips. God called my family into full time missionary service at the World Missions Summit in Louisville, KY New Years 2006 and I knew we would be in Africa!    My kids are the coolest things that have ever happened to me!  They have taught me so much about God and keep me grounded in what really matters in life (making sure we have enough nutty bars and laughing at everything).

 ~ Amy ~

I was born in Bay Village, OH.  I grew up in a caring and loving Christian home with 1 brother and 2 sisters. Growing up, I loved to play sports and get involved in my local church. My heart was always very tender towards the things of the Lord and especially towards missions. I was exposed to missions early in life and understood the importance of foreign missions because I have several family members who served in AGWM, two of which were in Africa. My seventh grade year, I led one of my friends to Christ at a sleepover at her house and I remember thinking that I want to spend my life doing that very thing! I was faithful in attending church and was involved in leadership in my youth group. My sophomore year in high school God really began to call me to missions. One Sunday evening a missionary showed a slide show and in it was a picture of his wife teaching some African children. I was so moved by that scene that I responded to an altar call that I felt called into missions. Later that summer at youth camp I continued to pursue God's will for my life. Wed. evening God showed me a vision of myself in the place of that missionary wife I had seen earlier in a slide show with little African children and He asked me if I would go. I responded "YES!" and the call in my life was birthed.  My parents instilled in me that God always came first; not just in words but in practice. I came face to face with this reality for the first time when I had to decide what was really important to me; basketball or youth group. My games would conflict with going to church and I realized that basketball, although I loved it, would never have long lasting effects in my life. So, my junior year I made the choice for God as number one. God blessed me as a result of my obedience to Him and later provided a scholarship to North Central Bible College which solidified my choice to go there and pursue a degree for ministry. I met my wonderful husband and married him May 13,1995 to begin our life in ministry together. I graduated in 1996 with a degree in English and secondary education with a minor in Bible. I taught for a short while prior to having children but my main focus has always been involving myself in ministry as Chris' partner. Since God has blessed us with children, I have devoted myself to them and youth ministry. I never questioned God's timing for our call to missions, I knew we would eventually be in Africa on the mission field. As Chris and I sought God's will for our lives at a Mission's Summit in Louisville, KY for where and when we would go into missions full time, He spoke clearly that now was the time to go to Africa! I am so glad that God's timing is perfect! We have already seen how God has prepared us for South Africa through life and ministry experiences. Although I will be sad to leave family and close friends, I am anxious to finally get to Africa since the original call to gowas over 20 years ago!

Ramadan Prayer Guide

We are in the last full week of Ramadan. It will come to an end somewhere between the 8th and 10th of September depending on the sighting of the moon. Ramadan will end with a two-day celebration called “Eid Al-Fitr.” “Eid” is the Arabic word for “festivity” and “Al-Fitr” carries the idea of “to purify.” Thus, “Eid Al-Fitr” is the Festival of Purification.

Please pray with us that people of this religious persuasion around the world will come to the knowledge that only the blood of Jesus can purify them from their sins.
