Agnes Modisane is one of the local heroes we have met and grown to love. She is a graduate of the Bible School we are working at and is now running a feeding and discipleship ministry in a nearby village, Phokeng. She daily feeds 60-80 kids and does so using the most basic of means.
She began this ministry because she realized that children must have full bellies before they will listen to the gospel. So, taking what she had in "her hands" she began to feed children who were walking home from school and then telling them about Jesus. From humble beginnings this ministry has grown in both numbers and impact in the local community.
We have been able to partner with her by buying supplies, helping to administrate resources, and by helping her to build a new house / ministry center. With the help of several missionaries in the area, several churches / individuals from the states, and one very committed Chi Alpha group (4 trips in three years), Embry Riddle Chi Alpha, Prescott, AZ we have been able to see the Lord do incredible things through this ministry. Anges is a pastor and leader in her community, but most of all, she is our friend.
